From February 12-15th, 2026, NYLON hosted its members-only residency at The Snow Lodge Aspen, blending music, fashion, and curated lifestyle programming into a four-day cultural escape. We stopped by Friday during the après event just as Kaytranada took over the decks and snowfall picked up outside,  a moment that felt like the winter version of festival season: intimate, stylish, and slightly under-the-radar. WHAT The residency functioned as a multi-day takeover designed around access. Guests moved through brand activations, sampling moments, and social arrivals before reaching the dance floor. The alpine layout leaned into cozy luxury, igloos for food and drinks, fire pits for warming up, and a hot chocolate station that quickly became essential between sets. Music programming stretched across the weekend with performances spanning house, electronic, and open-format sounds, creating a rhythm that felt equal parts nightlife and destination escape. WHERE Everything centered around The Snow Lodge’s indoor-outdoor space, where après seamlessly transitioned into late-night energy. The chic mountainside venue set the scene for NYLON’s exclusive winter […]

Twitter trolls compared the iconic, Givenchy dress to Mrs. Doubtfire, but in retrospect, floral gowns are always a hit at the ball. Especially for a nighttime occasion, or perhaps afternoons with these short winter days, everyone will be asking where you found this blossom-covered mermaid dress. From Reformation, it slims and elongates with a mermaid skirt and fitted, sweetheart bodice. Also from Reformation, this black rose dress has a loose-fitting skirt and spaghetti straps for leisure wear. This could be great for running errands with a fitted cardigan on top. 7 Vision Board Ideas To Get You Inspired Today https://thelagirl.com/vision-board-ideas/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=vision-board-ideas Mon, 05 Jan 2026 09:00:15 +0000 https://thelagirl.com/?p=16325 As the new year is about to roll in, we can’t help but think about what 2024 will bring us. To help get ourselves aligned with the new year, making a Vision Board is the perfect way to keep our 2024 goals. But, it can be tricky to know where to get started. Luckily our EIC – Erika De La Cruz excels in this department. She’s been making Vision Boards for years! In fact, she is planning one of the best Vision Board parties of the year and its FREE and virtual. Which means you can do it in your “comfies”. But if you want to make your Vision Board super specific, here are 7 ideas to help you get inspired to creating your Vision Board for 2024. 1. Put Your Name on Your Vision Board This idea might seem super simple, but it is a crucial tip to start. By putting your name on the board, your subconscious believes that the images you put on the board are your actual reality. Seeing your name close to the things you want to achieve will bring you that much closer to it.             View this post on […]

3 Simple Steps to Make a Vision Board That Actually Works https://thelagirl.com/3-simple-steps-to-make-a-vision-board-that-actually-works/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=3-simple-steps-to-make-a-vision-board-that-actually-works Wed, 31 Dec 2025 17:00:06 +0000 https://thelagirl.com/?p=7613 Step 1. Map each area of your life: This is the single most missed (and most important) step to create a clear vision for the new year. A Vision board that actually works has very clear wants and desires behind the images. For years, I procrastinated on goal-setting for the new year because I didn’t know where to begin. 5 years ago, I mapped out each area, with the important prompts and questions to consider and in 2022 I turned it into a FREE GUIDE. The word “passionista” was cut out and pasted onto that very first Vision Board I created, and within 2 years, I had my best selling book hit the market, called Passionistas, Tips Tales & Tweetables From Women Pursuing their dreams. Half the battle of making a vision board work FOR you, is skepticism. So tell that inner critic to take a seat and start mapping your deepest desires! Step 2. Feel Strong Emotion While Creating It The force that separates an action, from an inspired action is the feeling behind it. Attending Vision Board Parties, setting up a time to connect with yourself deeply and feel joy, or have another person facilitate you, takes the difficulty […]

The Art of Chic Tablescaping: Effortlessly Set Your Table For Fall https://thelagirl.com/fall-tablescape-ideas/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=fall-tablescape-ideas Fri, 10 Oct 2025 18:16:48 +0000 https://thelagirl.com/?p=15715 Call us basic, but we SoCal  girls can’t help but love FALL. There’s something magical about sharing time together while were gathered ‘round. But here’s the real secret to taking any gathering from common to captivating:  Tablescaping. Trust us, you’ve heard all the girlies talk about this, but just to give you a refresher, Tablescaping is the art of decorating a dining space that sets the mood for your meal. It truly is an inviting art that gets guests to settle in, enjoy the moment, and stay awhile. If you’re planning on hosting family, friends and loved ones this holiday season, here’s how you can artfully curate vibes – that are effortlessly chic (you’re an LA Girl, after all). Mix-and-match White Dinner Plates If you’re going to host frequent or large gatherings, it’s a good idea to invest in enough plates, glasses, silverware, and linens so you don’t have to spend the budget on rentals. Throughout the year, collect assorted all-white dinner plates, which are incredibly versatile for any occasion. Look for different patterns and textures around the rims. The subtle variety creates depth and interest to the table. We love these plates from Pottery Barn. Colored Glass Goblets These […]

Threading Artistry & Activism Through Tribecca with Elina Chauvet https://thelagirl.com/threading-artistry-activism-through-tribecca-with-elina-chauvet/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=threading-artistry-activism-through-tribecca-with-elina-chauvet Sat, 29 Mar 2025 01:01:28 +0000 https://thelagirl.com/?p=23152 Suppose you were traipsing through Tribeca on a cautiously pleasant Wednesday evening that dared you to reject the mid-week slump and embrace the freedom of your night. Chances are you stumbled upon the opening reception of Mexican visual artist Elina Chauvet’s new body of work, “Corazón al Hilo”, or “Heart in Thread”, presented by MAD54 and Galeria 1204 just in time for Women’s History Month.  Chauvet has been threading her needle and the color red through artistry and activism for over a decade. Her 2009 installation, “Zapatos Rojos”, meaning “Red Shoes,” gained international attention for its public denouncement of femicide. Chavet placed thirty-three pairs of red shoes, one in front of the other, down a major street in Juarez in honor of her sister and every woman who has been murdered because of their gender. Impactful is an understatement. Guests of Chauvet’s new exhibition, on display until March 29th, scaled the steep wooden steps to Tyler Loftis’ transformational studio space, expecting perhaps an intimate yet somewhat typical gallery showing. Instead, they were immersed in what could be a perfectly preserved 1920s New York City apartment: wood floors, amber lighting, and the artist herself at work on her knees, embroidering words […]

Modern Meets Vintage Flare: Selenee’s Spring Collection at LA Fashion Week https://thelagirl.com/modern-meets-vintage-flare-at-selenees-spring-collection-at-la-fashion-week/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=modern-meets-vintage-flare-at-selenees-spring-collection-at-la-fashion-week Sat, 22 Mar 2025 01:01:12 +0000 https://thelagirl.com/?p=23121 Los Angeles got its dose of contemporary runway presentations for LA Fashion Week and a few designers caught our eye. Look out spring, there’s a new color pallet in town and its shades redefine the season with Selenee’s debut collection. During the March 16th presentation at Hollywood’s exclusive member club Neue House, Selenee launched hued silhouettes of gray, black, red and plaid through a mirrored garden that transported us into a playful blend of modern and vintage flare with no stamp in time. Think: Modern “garden of eden” backdrop, meets medieval shapes, with contemporary structures. Modern suit designs, playful separates and romantic seemingly historical pieces hit Hollywood last Sunday night and we’re eager to follow along the journey. The Selenee Spring Collection debut at LA Fashion Week was a star-studded affair, attracting a chic crowd of fashion insiders, influencers, and industry luminaries. Guests previewed the debut collection on the runway, savored cocktails, all while enjoying a crowd-cheering presentation as a curation of glamourous models walked a mysterious garden of mirrors, stopping at each area of enchantment for a posed reveal. Among the notable attendees were Selling Sunset’s own Amanza Smith and model/actress Alina Goncharova all spotted taking in the stunning […]
